Travel Diary: First Day in Madrid, Spain

Hi everyone! I'm back from our 10 day tour of different towns/cities in Spain. Each one we visited was full of history and gorgeous scenery! Our first stop was Madrid! It was raining a lil bit but we were able to do some sightseeing quickly when we arrived. We took a short nap before we started our journey. First, we walked around Plaza Mayor, one of many busy squares in Madrid. There were different restaurants, shops, and lots of people from different parts of the world! We stopped at the 2000 year old Temple of Debod (Templo de Debod), a 30 min walk from our hotel. Around the temple was a gorgeous view of Madrid and a small park. The Temple of Debod is an ancient Egyptian temple that was rebuilt in Madrid. The Egyptians gave it to Spain in 1968 as a sign of gratitude for helping Egypt save the temple.

I have more photos to share from this trip. My husband and I were both tired the first day we arrived but we managed to walk around for several hours around Madrid and it was such a great experience to explore this beautiful city. Till next time! Thank you for reading!
